Our wireless neurostimulator – Starstim® – is now compatible with more brain imaging modalities than ever!
Electroencephalography (EEG)
Starstim is capable of monitoring the electrical brain activity before, during and after transcranial current stimulation (tCS) treatments. The wireless and non-invasive system, with up to 32 channels, is therefore suitable for research or clinical studies that require simultaneous tCS (e.g. tDCS, tACS, tRNS) and EEG.
Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Magnetoencephalography (MEG)
The MRI Kit contains radiotranslucid and MRI compatible accessories that allow the use of the stimulation features inside MRI scanners. This optional kit is extremely helpful to researchers who seek to visualize, for instance, the blood oxygenation effects (e.g. BOLD fMIR) that result from tCS treatments. This extension can also be adapted for use during MEG experiments, allowing researchers to study the effects of tDCS in the brain magnetic field.
Near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS)
Starstim NIRS is a bundle that combines the regular Starstim with Octamon – a wireless NIRS device. The combination of these two non-invasive and battery-operated systems allows researchers to study the effects of tCS on the brain electrical activity and on the blood oxygenation levels, in-clinic and in out-of-the lab scenarios.
